burn (verb) 1. to damage or destroy by exposure to prolonged and or excessive heat. 2. to become filled with passion or desire.

I’ve done a few ‘series’ over the years. Those are pieces (usually 3 or more) that share a look and/or a theme. I’ve also done what I would call ‘companion’ pieces like Looking & Looking Back or Sweat. Pant. & Sexy. Back. While some of my pieces could be grouped in ‘series’ or be ‘companions’ because they are cowboys, or beach scenes etc., they were not created with intentional ties to each other. Burn is actually a ‘climate change’ companion to Melt which I did many years ago. I’ve have the concept for it almost since I finished Melt. I’ve started versions of it several times but never brought it to fruition until now.
