I’m not sure if it’s just my mood, or the current overly cautious social climate, but these mini black and white pastel paintings I’m doing are certainly leaning toward ‘bold’. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that inappropriate aggressive behavior is facing the spotlight rather than being tolerated or excused, but as with all social trends the pendulum can swing too far in the opposite direction. We should be careful not to blur the lines between bold and assertive with aggression and assault.
