“Ever since they were little, the boys had reunited each summer up at the lake, their families both having places there. From July through August, they would venture through the woods, camping out, canoeing, and of course getting into a bit of mischief. Now all grown up, they still manage to steal away, leaving all their cares behind as they partake one of their few long standing traditions, a refreshing skinny dip during summers at the lake. ”
I grew up near the Adirondack Mountains of New York and Lake Champlain. Back then, summer meant going to the lake at some point. While the ocean is certainly fun, there is something special about summertime at a lake, surrounded by the forest, your camp at the center of nature. The water isn't salty, and usually so calm you can relax and just float all day if you want.
