He finds himself at Land’s End, where the vast sky and timeless ocean stretch out before Him. Feeling small and insignificant, he is nonetheless filled with a sense of wonder and the hope of endless possibilities.

There are a few places that give me that feeling like I'm at the very tip of everything, as far away as I can get without being set adrift. It was that feeling that inspired both the setting for this piece, as well as my decision to make the figure a little more mature. We all go through the ups and downs of life, working our way through the chaos, hopefully wiser and enriched. But then we reach, not the end, but a check point, and we've survived! We find that what was once important no longer is. That stuff is behind us, yet a plethora of new possibilities stand before us.
